KWK

KWK #13 was held at Forbes Street, with Alicia and Loch unable to make it this time.

Laura, Michal and Martine gave an update on the recent Archie Rose smoking event they attended, which sounded like a very worthwhile addition to the KWK calendar.

Mark and Ri provided the latest baby and house update. Both are tracking well, with the baby apparently around the size of an eggplant, or whatever vegetable the app had chosen that week.

The Leichhardt renovation is also progressing well, with the move-in getting closer. More importantly for KWK, that means a new hosting venue is nearly ready.

Steve and Martine then gave a debrief and slideshow from their trip away, including highlights from their whisky tasting tour of Islay, Scotland. They also brought back a rather special souvenir for everyone to sample: a 14-year-old Bruichladdich, a single-cask independent bottling from The Islay Whisky Vault, released for Fèis Ìle 2025.

Laura also took the new by-law seriously and made a proper effort to try whisky. Alicia was warned that the same standard will apply next time.

The next KWK is set for 17 October at the newly renovated Leichhardt address.

We’re all looking forward to seeing the finished house and, in particular, the much-discussed LED front door.
