KWK #9 brought good vibes and even better timing as the rain kindly cleared just in time for an al fresco evening hosted by Alicia and Loch. Their legendary grazing board set the tone, with a respectable dent made in the 500g of prosciutto (though some survived the feast). We celebrated Martine’s age group win at City2Surf and admired the marathon training efforts of her and Steve. Mark and Riannon shared highlights from a vet conference in Wanaka, while Michal took us on a vivid journey through Kyrgyzstan. Laura made sure her birthday didn’t go unnoticed, turning KWK into a stealth celebration. Loch’s blind whisky tasting was a hit – three whiskies, zero perfect guesses, and plenty of palate debate. A scenic lookout stroll wrapped up the evening, with early plotting for a 2026 KWK offsite (matching t-shirts very much on the table). Next up: KWK #10, the Christmas edition, locked in for 14th December at Forbes St with special guest Deb!
